Agricultural Workers Meet

Pyongyang, February 10 (KCNA) -- A meeting of agricultural workers was held at the People's Palace of Culture on February 9 to celebrate the birthday of leader Kim Jong Il.
Speakers said at the meeting that his birth as the bright star of Mt. Paektu was a nation's great joy and a great fortune of the Korean people and a historic event which opened a bright future of carrying forward and accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche.
He went to Ryanggang, Jagang, South Hwanghae and South Phyongan provinces and other places of the country and gave energetic guidance to build the rural villages into a fairyland of socialism and increase the grain production, they stressed.
They called upon all the agricultural workers to become true patriotic farmers who actively contribute to accelerating the building of a great prosperous powerful nation true to the Songun revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Il.
Present there were Kim Jung Rin, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned, officials of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea and agricultural workers.
A performance of the 32nd national art festival of agricultural workers was given at the People's Palace of Culture on the same day to celebrate February 16.
In the narration and chorus, female duet and other numbers the performers vividly sang of the facts that the dignity and honor of the nation is being demonstrated to the world and a new history of changes are being made on this land thanks to Kim Jong Il.
