Kimjongilia Festival in Preparation

Pyongyang, January 30 (KCNA) -- Preparations for the 8th Kimjongilia Festival to be held in Pyongyang on the occasion of the auspicious February holiday, birthday of Kim Jong Il, are active across the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
Brisk preparations are being made by the ministries and national institutions including the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces, the Ministry of People's Security, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications and the Ministry of Culture which won visitors' estimation in past festivals.
The Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Railways are doing their best to bring Kimjongilia into full bloom for the festival.
They are paying deep attention to controlling the temperature, light and humidity in their greenhouses.
Kimjongilia is coming into bloom in several hundred Kimilsungia and Kimjongilia greenhouses built in all the provinces, cities and counties amid deep concern and expectation of the people.
The Korean Kimilsungia and Kimjongilia Committee has instituted the flag of the Kimjongilia Festival and is touching a finishing hand to the preparations to sponsor the festival successfully.
The scale of the festival and the number of its participants have ever increased since its first festival was held in Juche 86 (1997).
The forthcoming festival is expected to be participated in by more units and individuals at home, overseas Koreans and florists and amateurs of various countries.
