    Pyongyang, January 25 (KCNA) -- The Songun politics of the Workers' Party of Korea is the invincible politics whose validity has been proved amid the stern test of history and an all-powerful treasured sword for winning a victory in the revolution, says Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article. The WPK's Songun politics is the most effective political mode as it most correctly reflects the aspiration and demand of the popular masses who value independence and helps successfully realize them in the present times, the article notes, and continues:
    This politics is the most just politics reflecting the demand of the prevailing situation and will of the popular masses.
    The Songun politics is the most popular politics as it is aimed to defend independence of the popular masses and serve the people.
    This politics is based on the philosophy of arms that the army represents the Party, the State and the people.
    Attaching great importance to the military affairs in the socialist society is the most just measure to protect the destiny of the people and guarantee their life. No political mode is, therefore, as efficient as the Songun politics enforced by the WPK and the socialist regime which struggle for the independent and creative life of the people.
    The Korean people live and struggle with the faith that they can live without sweets but not without bullets.
    This clearly proves that the WPK's Songun politics is one for the people and an efficient political mode absolutely supported by the people.
    The Songun politics is the invincible politics guaranteeing the sovereignty and dignity of the Korean nation.
    Sovereignty is the life and soul of the country and the nation and socialism.
    Sovereignty is unthinkable without an army in the present world where the imperialists' military high-handed and arbitrary practices are rampant.
    An invincible army is the source of extraordinary pluck, strong national self-respect and dignified and independent diplomacy.
    The Songun politics based on the invincible revolutionary armed forces is the principled and just anti-imperialist independent politics, noble patriotic politics reliably defending the demand for independence of the popular masses and their interests and sovereignty and dignity of the country and the nation from all forms of infringement of the imperialist reactionaries.
    The Songun politics firmly guarantees independence of the DPRK and helps the socialist motherland fully demonstrate its dignity, honor and might as a bulwark of independence.
