N. Korea proposes talks on family reunion center
2004-01-08
North Korea offered a counterproposal to South Korea for working-level talks on building a permanent reunion center on the North's east coast for families separated by the Korean War more than a half-century ago, South Korean officials said Tuesday (Jan. 6).
In a telephone message via the border village of Panmunjom, North Korea's Red Cross proposed to hold talks on Jan. 15-17 at Mount Geumgang on the North's east coast to discuss issues related to land and a geological survey of the proposed site.
