Rodong Sinmun on Practical Ways for Peace and Reunification of Korea
KCNA
Pyongyang, January 7 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun in a signed article today calls on the north and the south to take practical actions to settle the Korean nation's confrontation with the U.S. in its struggle to defend peace on the Korean peninsula and achieve the country's reunification.
The U.S. is chiefly to blame for the harassed peace and stability on the Korean peninsula, the article says, adding: The U.S. does not want the Korean peninsula to be reunified and it is not pleased with the improved inter-Korean relations. It does not care whether Korea remains divided or whether it falls victim to a nuclear disaster as it is keen only on its own interests.
Last year the Korean nation has waged a vigorous movement for reunification in the idea of "By our nation itself," pursuant to the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration, the article says, citing detailed facts to prove that the U.S. kicked up a reckless nuclear racket and desperately escalated its war moves in a bid to scuttle the Korean nation's process of reconciliation and cooperation from the outset of last year.
The article continues:
The U.S. will not present the Korean nation with peace and reunification in any case as it is keen to realize its ambition for world supremacy. Its much talk about the six-way talks over the nuclear issue between the DPRK and the U.S. is nothing but high-flown rhetoric.
All the Koreans in the north, the south and abroad should achieve national cooperation and wage a valiant anti-U.S. and anti-war struggle irrespective of ideology, political view and religious belief in the era of independence and reunification.
They will pool efforts and deal a sledge-hammer blow at the U.S. arrogant moves to launch a war of aggression against the DPRK and reject the sycophantic traitors in south Korea cooperating with the U.S. in its anti-peace and anti-reunification moves.
