DPRK's Invariable Position - Answering Tough Policy with Tougher Measures
KCNA
Pyongyang, January 5 (KCNA) -- The Korean nation-first spirit is the noble spirit of national independence and ideological sentiments of love for the nation and the motherland that enable the entire Korean nation to display their pride as the most dignified and proud nation in the world, cherishing its superiority, says Rodong Sinmun in a signed article today.
It continues:
Owing its origin to the Korean nation-first spirit is the will to demonstrate to the world the dignity and honor of the Korean nation by promoting the cause of national independence and patriotic work for reunification with high consciousness of independence and national character, convinced that the Korean nation is the best.
This spirit is an invincible weapon which must be held fast to in the struggle to restore national homogeneity maintained for 5,000 years and glorify the honor as a reunified nation by rejecting flunkeyism and dependence on outside forces and accomplishing the cause of the country's reunification with the internal strength of the nation.
The idea of "By our nation itself" is based on our nation-first spirit.
The U.S. is the very outside force which is gravely encroaching on the dignity, sovereignty and interests of the Korean nation and standing in the way of the movement of independent reunification. National cooperation based on the Korean nation-first spirit is the all-conquering weapon for smashing the U.S. imperialists' arrogant and shameless policy of aggression toward Korea and their moves to provoke a new war and advancing uninterruptedly the movement for reconciliation, unity and reunification. All the fellow countrymen should vigorously push forward the reunification movement in the new year under the slogan "Let us pave a wide avenue for independent reunification through national cooperation under the banner of our nation-first spirit!" set forth in the joint New Year editorial.
The whole nation should fight in close unity to dispel the danger of a nuclear war brought by outside forces every moment, defend peace in the country and achieve its reunification.
