National cooperation called for

Pyongyang, May 9 (KCNA) -- One of the calls of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea "Let us accelerate the independent reunification by the efforts of our nation" is a patriotic one making it possible to increase in every way the might of inter-Korean cooperation which provides a sure guarantee for ensuring peace of the country and achieving national reunification, says Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article.
Calling on all Koreans to pool efforts, before anything else, in order to bring about a decisive turn in their struggle for independent reunification this significant year, the 55th anniversary of the DPRK, the article continues:
The June 15 North-South Joint Declaration is a historic one as it helped usher in a new era of national unity, the era in which all the Koreans pool their efforts.
The only way of implementing the declaration to the letter is for all Koreans in the north and the south and abroad to join their efforts.
The U.S. imperialists, defying the Korean nation's desire for independent reunification, are fostering antipathy and discord between the north and the south and driving the situation on the Korean Peninsula to the brink of war by staging ceaseless war exercises.
It is the height of folly to try to achieve the reunification of the country in reliance upon such outsiders.
The Korean nation can certainly reunify the country if they foil the outsiders' moves for domination and interference and pool their efforts no matter how difficult and complicated the movement for national reunification may be.
Those who have strength are requested to dedicate their strength, those who have knowledge contribute their knowledge and those who have money donate their money. This way everyone should make a tangible contribution to advancing the movement for independent reunification. This will help tap the potentials of the nation and achieve at an early date the independent reunification by the concerted efforts of the nation.
