Rodong Sinmun on WPK's Songun policy

Pyongyang, April 21 (KCNA) -- The DPRK has confidently advanced along the road of socialism chosen by itself, without reading other's face by maintaining its revolutionary principle and independent stand even under the present grave situation.
This is ascribable to the unique Songun policy of Korean style.
Rodong Sinmun today says this in a signed article.
It goes on:
The Songun policy enforced by the Workers' Party of Korea is the most effective political mode in our era as it helps firmly defend the sovereignty and reliably guarantees the interests and prosperity and development of the country and the nation.
An independent policy is an important means of powerfully inspiring the popular masses' struggle for independence to steady advance and victory. The independent policy basically means reflecting the desire and independent demand of the popular masses and meeting them.
A true independent policy means the Songun policy.
The Songun policy of the party fully represents the independent policy aimed to most successfully realise the sovereignty of the country and the nation.
This policy is the Korean-style unique political mode which calls for regarding the military affair and the increase of the national defence capability as the greatest state affair, and strengthening the main agent of the revolution and promoting national defence and socialist construction as a whole with the People's Army as the mainstay.
But for the Songun policy, the Korean people would not have been able to defend the sovereignty of the country, to say nothing of the socialist construction, and would have fallen victim to foreign forces long ago.
All the countries and nations advocating independence can increase their national defence capabilities and achieve the independent development and prosperity, standing the severe test of history, only when they follow the Songun policy, the most vivid manifestation of an independent policy and the most effective political mode in our era.
