River-crossing exercise staged in S. Korea

Pyongyang, April 4 (KCNA) -- The "Sungjin" unit of the South Korean army staged an all-out offensive river-crossing operation exercise on April 1 in the wake of its field tactical mobile drill for 2003, according to KBS of South Korea. Tanks, armored cars and other combat vehicles and huge troops underwent training in rapidly securing a bridgehead by use of river-crossing equipment of u.s. forces. An ultra modern information radar system was reportedly used in the drill for the first time.
