Songun politics guarantees nation's dignity, sovereignty

Pyongyang, April 3 (KCNA) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea has defended the dignity and sovereignty of the nation, countering the U.S. imperialists' high-handed practice and arbitrariness with the Songun politics.
Availing themselves of the post-cold war imbalance of power in the world, they have tried hard for world supremacy, wantonly violating the sovereignty of other nations.
Without a strong military power, can any country neither safeguard its dignity and sovereignty nor achieve development and prosperity.
In the 1990s' the DPRK successfully defended the destiny of the nation and socialism with the Songun politics, unyielding to the imperialist coalition's persistent efforts to isolate and stifle the country and overcoming unprecedented difficulties.
The Workers' Party of Korea has dynamically accelerated the revolution and construction with the army as the mainstay and driving force of the revolution. Thanks to this politics, the revolutionary spirit of soldiers has been created, the military power strengthened considerably on the basis of the self-supporting defence industry and the whole of the country turned into an unconquerable fortress.
In January when the U.S. imperialists were threatening the supreme interests of the DPRK under the pretext of the "nuclear issue", the DPRK government took a just measure to withdraw from the nuclear non-proliferation treaty to defend the sovereignty, existence and dignity of the country and the nation.
The bold decision was also a product of the Songun politics.
The Korean army and people will never abandon their choice of the Songun politics but fight out the U.S. imperialists and their allies to defend the peace and security of the country.
