Pyongyang, March 28 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article calls on the entire Korean nation to resolutely fight against the U.S. high-handed interference and aggressive moves disturbing peace and reunification of the Korean nation.
The U.S. imperialist aggressor forces and the South Korean army are staging large-scale madcap joint military exercises targeted against the north in South Korea with U.S. ultra-modern military hardware including nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Carl Vinson additionally deployed in and around South Korea, the article says, adding: This clearly indicates that the U.S. attempt to provoke a war against the DPRK has reached the phase of its realization.
This reckless saber-rattling of the U.S. is aimed to vitiate the atmosphere of reconciliation and unity of the Korean nation, totally block the way of independent reunification by provoking a nuclear war and thus dominate the DPRK by force of arms.
The U.S. is not only chiefly to blame for the division of the Korean nation but the no. one enemy standing in the way of independent and peaceful reunification of the country, the cherished desire of the whole Korean nation.
The U.S. is the harasser of peace and the root cause of war on the Korean Peninsula, while the Koreans in the north and the south are responsible for defending the peace and averting a war. Therefore, there exists on the Korean Peninsula only confrontation between the Koreans in the north and the south and the U.S. all the Koreans in the north, south and overseas should fulfill their responsibility and play their role in the struggle to achieve peace and reunification of Korea.
National cooperation is the best way for the Korean nation to clear the Korean Peninsula of the danger of war, defend the dignity and sovereignty of the nation and achieve peace and reunification of the country.
National cooperation based on the idea of "by our nation itself", the main spirit of the north-south joint declaration, is a sure guarantee for independence, peace and reunification.
All Koreans in the north, south and overseas should put the common interests of the nation above anything else and unite close under the banner of national sovereignty and patriotism as required by the era of national cooperation, irrespective of ideology, political view and religious belief.
