Landing exercise in Phohang

Pyongyang, March 23 (KCNA) -- The U.S. marines and the South Korean army staged a landing exercise in Phohang on March 21 as part of the frantic joint military manoeuvres dubbed Foal Eagle and Rsoi, foreign media reported.
The marines, supported by fighter jets from aircraft carrier Carl Vinson, landed at the coast in amphibious vehicles to occupy positions in pine tree forests before engaging themselves in the war exercises in paddy and non-paddy fields in the vicinity.
The hawks said the manoeuvres were aimed to make preparations to repel possible infiltration by someone.
They are staging these large-scale manoeuvres in South Korea in a bid to unleash a new war in the Korean Peninsula, timed to coincide with U.S. military attacks on Iraq, aggravating the situation.
