Pyongyang, March 12 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article proves that the army-based policy of the Workers' Party of Korea is based on the Juche idea, a great revolutionary doctrine.

It is an essential character of the army-based policy to strengthen the Korean People's Army as an invincible revolutionary armed force to defend the security of the country and the gains of the revolution, build up the driving forces of the revolution with the KPA as the core and the main force and carry on socialist construction in a revolutionary and militant way.
The army-based policy makes it possible to embody requirements of the Juche idea to defend and realize the independence of the popular masses, the country and the nation by keeping the principle of giving precedence to military affairs.
The policy helps embody the requirements of the Juche idea to strengthen the driving force of the revolution and enhance its role by putting forward the army as the main force of the revolution.
The Korean people's socialist construction is being carried on under the circumstances different from the last period.
As the DPRK has advanced under the banner of independence and the banner of socialism it bears the brunt of an attack by the U.S. imperialists and their followers, reactionary forces.
Our confrontation with the imperialists is a showdown of strength. Training the KPA to be invincible strong forces on the principle of giving priority to military affairs and developing the national defence industry before anything else are the only just strategic line chosen by the WPK to smash the imperialists' moves and carry out the revolution to the last under the banner of the Juche idea.
