13th meeting of co-chairmen of Pomchonghakryon held

Pyongyang, March 6 (KCNA) -- The 13th meeting of the co-chairmen of the National Alliance of Youth and Students for the Country's Reunification (Pomchonghakryon) took place in the north, the south and overseas by facsimile.
The meeting reviewed the activities of the organization last year and discussed the orientation of its activity for 2003.
The meeting noted:
Pomchonghakryon took the lead in lighting the torch of national independence and roused the youth and students to the struggle for early national reunification, holding higher anti-U.S., anti-war slogans and slogans calling for the withdrawal of the U.S. troops last year.
The organization made joint national functions successful under the banner of the June 15 joint declaration despite the obstruction of the anti-reunification forces at home and abroad, made all efforts to let Koreans at home and abroad uplift the great motto "By Our Nation Itself" and achieved great success in developing the solidarity movement of youth and students.
The organization should implement the June 15 Joint Declaration in the van under the slogan "Let us pool efforts of our nation to speed up independent reunification," further strengthen solidarity and unity with those organizations supporting the joint declaration and conduct a vigorous campaign for the legalization of the south headquarters of Pomchonghakryon and the South Korean Federation of University Student Councils.
A joint resolution and an appeal to youth and students at home and abroad were adopted at the meeting.
