Meeting of activists in movement for title of O Jung Hup's Seventh Regiment of KPA

Pyongyang, March 4 (KCNA) -- A meeting of activists in the movement for the title of O Jung Hup's Seventh Regiment of the Korean People's Army was held here between March 2 and 3.
This movement is a mass movement for ideological innovation aimed to firmly protect the headquarters of our revolution, inheriting the anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters' spirit of devotedly defending the leader and a mass onward movement to increase the KPA's combat preparedness and capability in every way in the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance and fortitude.
Deeply penetrating into the unanimous desire of the KPA servicemen to learn from the example set by the seventh regiment of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army in defending the headquarters at the cost of their lives in the arduous period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle and the requirements for developing the revolutionary armed forces, KPA Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il personally lit the torch to launch the mass movement of a new higher form on January 1, Juche 85 (1996).
The meeting reviewed the successes and experience gained in the course of conducting the movement in the last period and discussed the tasks to be carried out to train all the servicemen as ranks of human bombs devotedly defending the headquarters of the revolution and standard-bearers and shock brigades leading the people to uphold the army-based policy of the Workers' Party of Korea and thus increase the KPA's combat power in every way.
Present there were Jo Myong Rok, director of the General Political Department of the KPA, Kim Yong Chun, Chief of its general staff, Kim Il Chol, Minister of the People's Armed Forces, senior officials of the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces, officers, political commissars and servicemen of the KPA units.
The Central Military Commission of the WPK in a congratulatory message to the participants of the meeting highly praised all the KPA servicemen for their great achievements made in the efforts to more firmly prepare themselves as the army strong in ideology and faith and invincible revolutionary armed forces filled with the spirit of devotedly defending the leader and achieve the progress and the prosperity of the country, true to the WPK's policy on the mass movement.
The message called on all the servicemen to intensify the movement, true to the noble intention of Kim Jong Il, and bring about a new turn in strengthening the KPA and thus creditably perform their honorable mission and duty as pillars and main agent of the revolution.
Kim Yong Chun made a report at the meeting.
He underlined the need to steadily develop in depth the movement to strengthen the KPA into the first-line ranks defending the headquarters of the revolution in the spirit of devotedly defending the leader and the spirit of becoming human bombs and a strong regular revolutionary army of Mt. Paektu whose servicemen have been revolutionized and are filled with socialist patriotism.
The anti-Japanese guerrilla trait of training should be established throughout the army and all its units and sub-units should carry out Kim Jong Il's orders for training, true to the party's five-point policy of training and the four-point principle of training and thereby emerge O Jung Hup's regiments today with invincible combat capability, he stressed.
Speakers at the meeting called for advancing dynamically, giving fuller play to the spirit of the army of Mt. Paektu to glorify the 21st century as Kim Jong Il's century under his army-based leadership, holding aloft the banner of devotedly defending the leader.
