"Multilateral talks" rejected

Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) -- Senior statesmen of the United States flew to South Korea and countries around the Korean Peninsula and to different parts of the world to convince them of the usefulness of what they call "multilateral talks," claiming that the nuclear activities of the DPRK pose international menace, says Rodong Sinmun today in a commentary. The news analyst says:
The U.S. loudmouthed "multilateral talks" are, in essence, a cynical ploy to shove off the responsibility for the settlement of the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula to the international community.
The U.S. is to blame for the nuclear crisis in the peninsula as it is menacing the sovereignty of the DPRK and its right to existence. So, it is responsible and able to do away with the crisis. The nuclear issue should be settled only between the DPRK and the U.S.
Other countries' joining in the negotiations between the DPRK and the U.S. would only complicate the issue.
The U.S. tries hard to use the "multilateral talks" in internationalizing the nuclear issue and lay the blame for the crisis on the DPRK in a bid to incriminate it on the charge of violation of international law. In case its demands are not met, it also seeks to drum up the support of the international community in its efforts to create conditions for its military attacks on the DPRK.
Any countries that are interested in the settlement of the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula are obliged to help the DPRK and the U.S., the parties directly concerned, seek a fair and negotiated settlement of the issue.
The U.S. should realize that there are no other options than direct and equal negotiations between the DPRK and the U.S. for the settlement of the nuclear issue and do what it should do.
