Inter-Korean cooperation called for
Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) -- At the 9th north-south ministerial talks the north side proposed the issue of strengthening inter-Korean cooperation to avert the danger of a war and defend the peace of the country and the security of the nation in view of the tense situation prevailing on the Korean Peninsula and clarified its stand on it. Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article says that inter-Korean cooperation provides the only way of ensuring peace in the country and defending the security of the nation. It goes on:
The situation on the Korean Peninsula is inching close to the phase of serious crisis, arousing the world's apprehension, and the Korean nation stands at the crossroads of peace or war.
There is no guarantee that the U.S. warhawks, seized by extreme war fever, would not ignite a war of aggression against the DPRK. This war will not bring disasters to the north only.
It is, therefore, a task facing all Koreans in the north and the south to avert the danger of a war and protect peace on the Korean Peninsula.
If anyone turns his face away from the present reality and hesitates to opt for inter-Korean cooperation, taken in by the appeasement and deceptive trick on the part of outsiders and yielding to their pressure, this will be an act of treachery.
All the Koreans in the north and the south of Korea and abroad should be highly vigilant against the dangerous situation in Korea and the U.S. imperialists' reckless moves to launch a war of aggression and resolutely foil them through inter-Korean cooperation and a united struggle.
