DPRK withdrawal from NPT hailed
Pyongyang, February 5 (KCNA) -- The Japan Committee for Supporting the Independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea in an emergency statement on Jan. 21 said that the U.S. moves to stifle the DPRK for no reason failed because it took a resolute countermeasure. DPRK's proposal to conclude a non-aggression treaty with the U.S. is, indeed, the most important issue in ensuring peace and security in the Korean Peninsula and Northeast Asia at present, the statement said. The committee supports the proposal and hopes that it would be realized at an early date.According to the Jan. 20 issue of the Indonesian newspaper Merdeka, the chairman of the Indonesia-Korea Association for Friendship and Cultural Exchange in a statement said that the DPRK's withdrawal from the NPT is a timely and bold measure.
