Diplomatic Relations Established between DPRK and Ireland

    Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- A report on opening the diplomatic relations between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Republic of Ireland was published on Dec. 20. According to the report, to this end official talks took place in Pyongyang on Dec. 10, 2003 between the DPRK Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Ireland.
    At the talks the documents on the opening of diplomatic relations between the DPRK and Ireland were exchanged and it was agreed to establish the diplomatic relations between the two countries on Dec. 10, 2003 on the basis of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and Consular Relations.
