Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD)

U.S. Move to Develop Smaller Nukes Denounced

KCNA

Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- Some days ago the U.S. Congressional Research Service published a report on the nuclear policy of the Bush administration. In the report it noted with concern that the smaller nukes the Bush administration is going to develop may cause huge civilian casualties, demanding the declaration of the non-preemptive use of nuclear weapon. In this regard Minju Joson today in a signed commentary says that the report serves as an indictment disclosing the essence and dangerous nature of the Bush administration's strategy of preemptive nuclear attack and its move to develop new type nukes to realize the strategy.
    The commentary goes on:
The Bush administration is not hiding the fact that its undisguised move to develop new type nukes is to carry out the strategy of preemptive nuclear attack.
This move only reveals its dirty true colors before the international community.
The Bush administration has become more clamorous for the removal of the "threat of weapons of mass destruction" than any others.
It is illogical and politically and morally contradictory for the Bush administration to openly pursue the development of new type nukes.
The elimination of nukes and their development cannot go together under any circumstances.
In the final analysis, there is no need to explain what the Bush administration seeks in peddling the "threat of weapons of mass destruction."
The Bush administration is keen to bring nuclear disasters to the world to achieve its aggressive purpose. This reckless move is intolerable.
The Bush administration would be well advised to face up to the reality, drop its foolish dream and act with discretion.
