He went on to say:
The people of our two countries have long helped and supported each other as close friends and this created a good tradition of friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.
The friendly and cooperative relations are favorably developing in line with the desire and interests of the two peoples under the deep care of Comrade Kim Jong Il, the great leader of our people, and the Mongolian leadership.
We sincerely rejoice over this.
We are well aware of the many successes made in the work to develop the national economy and culture, alleviate poverty and increase the international authority of the country since the People's Revolutionary Party came to power in Mongolia and sincerely wish the Mongolian people greater success in their work to build a developed and prospering country.
It is our consistent stand to steadily develop the bilateral relations, he noted, adding that the DPRK would make positive efforts to expand and develop the friendship with the Mongolian people in different fields as required by the new century and closely cooperate with the Mongolian government.
Nambariin Enkhbayar in a speech said: New principled changes have taken place in the relations between the two countries over the last more than decade.
The signing of a treaty of friendly relations and cooperation between Mongolia and the DPRK in 2002 opened a new chapter in the history of the two countries.
I would like to emphasize that the traditional cooperative relations between the two countries are favorably developing in different fields in the spirit of the treaty.
Our generation has a commitment to play an important role in further expanding and developing in the new century the historic friendly relations the foundation of which was provided by the preceding leaders of the two countries.
Our visit to the DPRK would mark an important occasion in expanding not only the bilateral relations but the cooperative relations in the region and ensuring peace and security.
Our government and people are very pleased with the fact that Comrade Kim Jong Il, the great leader of the Korean people, shows deep concern for the expansion and development of the cooperative relations between the two countries.
The prime minister hoped that the diligent Korean people would register greater success in accomplishing the cause of peaceful reunification and the prosperity of the country closely rallied around Kim Jong Il.
