Technical Modernization Active in DPRK

    Pyongyang, November 14 (KCNA) -- Light industry factories in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea are accelerating technical modernization to improve the quality of goods and expand the production capacity. The Pyongyang Footwear Factory has newly established a production process to make a million pairs of sports shoes every year.
    The Phyongsong Synthetic Leather Factory manufactured five PP fibre-spinning machines, each with an annual production capacity of 200 tons, and introduced equipment for automatically controlling temperature irrespective of the change of frequency to better the quality of products.
    The Sinuiju Cosmetics Factory manufactured a calcium carbonate crusher with a capacity of 100 kilograms per hour, while the Pyongyang Daily Necessities Factory made various molds including a mold of 12-litre plastic bucket, making it possible to produce more than 10,000 quality plastic goods every month.
    The Pyongyang Korean Clothes Factory has newly set up two embroidery machines and dyeing processes for tetoron rayon cloth were established in the Anju and Pakchon silk mills.
    The Mangyongdae Shoes Company built a production process of injection-molded boots with an annual capacity of 230,000 pairs and started operation, and the Hwangju Textile Mill made an heat treatment equipment for cloth.
    The Kyongsong Porcelain Factory constructed a high-speed roller kiln and began making rollers by itself to increase the production six times. And the Hamhung Spices Factory erected a tower with a refining capacity of 100 litres per hour.
