Art Performances Held

Pyongyang, October 10 (KCNA) -- Art performances are given at theatres and public halls in the capital and local areas of the country on the occasion of the 6th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's election as general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and the 58th anniversary of the WPK.
Performances are presented by artistes of national art troupes such as the Mansudae Art Troupe, the National Symphony Orchestra, the Phibada Opera Troupe, and the State Theatrical Company at theatres in Pyongyang.
Put on stages are numbers including the chorus of the immortal revolutionary paean "Song of General Kim Jong Il", the orchestra "People Extend Glory to the Party" and the revolutionary drama "The Celebration Meeting".
They impressively represent the people's loyalty to Kim Jong Il who has strengthened the WPK into an invincible revolutionary party advancing under the banner of Songun, ardent love for the country and people and indomitable will and optimistic spirit that should be possessed by revolutionaries of Juche-type, the inevitability of the downfall of imperialism and the necessity of the victory of the revolutionary struggle for the independence of popular masses.
Meanwhile, performances are given at theatres and houses of culture in local areas including South Hamgyong, North Hwanghae and Jagang provinces.
Choruses and brass band music were performed by schoolchildren in Pyongyang in the plaza of the Monument to Party Founding on October 9.
