DPRK Stamp Exhibition Opens

    Pyongyang, September 5 (KCNA) -- A DPRK stamp exhibition was opened at the DPRK Stamp Exhibition newly arranged in Changgwang Street on Sept. 5 on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the DPRK. The exhibition has halls devoted to the display of the stamps issued since the liberation of the country up till now and has various other facilities providing diverse services including information service and sale.
    Put on display according to themes are more than 4,000 kinds of stamps issued for the past 55 years, a proud history covered by the DPRK. Over 350 of them deal with the immortal exploits performed by the three generals of Mt. Paektu.
    Stamps bearing the noble images of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, the illustrious commander born of Mt. Paektu, help the people cherish great national pride and self-confidence of being blessed with illustrious leaders generation after generation.
    Also on display are "Samson-Rock", the stamp published on March 12, Juche 35 (1946) for the first time in the DPRK, stamps issued since the foundation of the DPRK, a variety of other stamps introducing the time-honored history of Korea and its culture, custom, nature, geography, animals and plants and various kinds of envelops, postcards and greeting cards and diplomas DPRK stamps received at the international stamp exhibitions and other stamps proved successful at the national stamp design prize contest held on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the DPRK.
