Reelection of Kim Jong Il Congratulated

    Pyongyang, September 4 (KCNA) -- A rally of officers and men of the Ministry of the People's Armed Forces was held at the Jonsung Square in Pyongyang on September 3 to hail the reelection of leader Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, as chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK. At the rally Vice Marshal Jo Myong Rok, first vice-chairman of the DPRK NDC and director of the General Political Department of the KPA, made a report which was followed by speeches.
    The reporter and speakers extended highest glory and warmest congratulations with boundless admiration and wholehearted loyalty of all the officers and men of the KPA to Kim Jong Il on his reelection as chairman of the DPRK NDC according to the unanimous desire and will of the whole army and entire people.
    His reelection, they said, was a clear manifestation of undisputed support to and warm trust in him of all the KPA officers and men and people and a revelation of the rock-firm faith and will of the army and people to build a great prosperous powerful nation at any cost on this land to carry the revolutionary cause of Juche to accomplishment under his wise leadership.
    Kim Jong Il has led the WPK, the state and the revolutionary armed forces along the road of victory over last decades to perform great immortal exploits that will shine long in the history of the motherland and the history of the struggle for the liberation of humankind, they noted.
    Recalling that the DPRK has turned into a country of impregnable fortress with self-reliant defences, a military power, which no formidable enemy dare provoke, to strike the world people with admiration, they said this is the precious results of Kim Jong Il's outstanding idea of attaching importance to military affairs and his great Songun revolutionary leadership.
    They called upon all the KPA officers and men to cherish the strong faith that there are the DPRK demonstrating its might as an invincible ideological power, political power and military power and the bright future of Kim Il Sung nation as there is Kim Jong Il and firmly believe in and follow him in any storm and stress to become heroes with human bomb spirit, combatants with the spirit of self-blasting explosion defending the headquarters of the Korean revolution headed by him at the cost of their lives.
    At the end of the rally, the KPA officers and men danced merry dances.
    Evening galas of youth and students were held in all parts of the country on September 3 to celebrate the occasion.
