U.S. Urged to Drop Onesided Policy in Favour of Japan
KCNA
Pyongyang, August 29 (KCNA) -- The United States still designates the East Sea of Korea as "Japan Sea" in an onesided way of thinking in favour of Japan and from a biased stand.
This is an act against history as it ignores the fair principle of marking places and goes against the trend of the times, Rodong Sinmun today says this in a signed commentary slamming the U.S. State Department for marking the sea between the Korean peninsula and Japan as "Japan Sea" in its homepage introducing the Korean peninsula.
The commentary goes on:
The designation of the East Sea of Korea as "Japan Sea" is a mockery of the Korean people and an infringement upon the sovereignty of the DPRK.
The issue of correcting the wrong designation of the East Sea of Korea is a matter of principle related to undoing the leftover of the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule over Korea and observing the principle of marking places and that of fidelity to historical truth and ensuring international justice and impartiality and a historical task.
The U.S. is also to blame for the wrong designation of the East Sea of Korea as "Japan Sea", the commentary observes, charging that the U.S. is persistently pursuing an onesided policy in favour of Japan with hostility and bitter prejudice towards the DPRK.
The U.S. should face up to the times and history and make a switchover in its onesided policy in favour of Japan and its hostile policy toward DPRK.
