6th National Taekwon-Do Championships for Jongilbong Cup Held

Pyongyang, August 23 (KCNA) -- The 6th National Taekwon-Do Championships for Jongilbong Cup was held at the Taekwon-Do Hall from Aug. 18 to 22.
Participating in the championships were over 620 men and women players selected from among provincial (municipality) Taekwon-Do schools (including adult class) and the team (training group) of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee.
There were team and individual matches of sparring, pattern and special techniques, divided into junior and adult classes.
The North Hwanghae Provincial Taekwon-Do School Team came first in total, picking up 9 gold medals in different events of junior class, and the South Phyongan Provincial Taekwon-Do School Team placed first in total in adult class events.
At the closing ceremony of the championships on Aug. 22 trophy cups and medals were awarded to the best teams and players and technical prizes to the players who displayed high techniques and refined and powerful special movements.
