Anti-DPRK War Moves of U.S. and S. Korea Flailed
KCNA
Pyongyang, August 23 (KCNA) -- The Secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland made public information bulletin No. 844 on August 22, vehemently condemning the U.S. and south Korea for resorting to war moves against the DPRK behind the smoke-screen of dialogue.
According to the information bulletin, the U.S. hawks are seeking dangerous military movements by saying that both south Korea and the U.S. should provide against the second war on the Korean peninsula including military attacks though the opening of the six-way talks was agreed upon. They, together with the south Korean army, are launching the dangerous Ulji Focus Lens joint military exercise throughout south Korea from August 18 to 29.
The U.S. is still persisting in all sorts of war provocation moves against the DPRK, which clearly shows that their clamors for "assurance of peace" or "talks" are a sheer lie and that through the six-way talks they are seeking to disarm the DPRK completely and, in case it is impossible, to control it by force of arms, the information bulletin stressed, and added: If the U.S. takes the road of war against the north behind the curtain of dialogue, not withdrawing its hostile policy towards the DPRK, we will never give up nuclear deterrent force and settle accounts with the aggressors.
The U.S. should not commit a rash act, seeing the will of our army and people to annihilate the enemies. The south Korean authorities, too, should not dance to the tune of the U.S. war to hamstring the nation but come out to national cooperation for removing the danger of a war and defending peace.
