New Battery Developed

KCNA

Pyongyang, August 22 (KCNA) -- A new kind of battery has been developed recently in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. It is a self-generating battery by the chemical reaction of aluminum and oxygen. It, which produces no pollution, is considered to be much better than acid and alkali batteries.
The battery consists of air electrode (positive), aluminum electrode (negative) and electrolyte (salted water or sea water).
    It generates 1-1.5 volts.
A 0.4 millimeter-thick aluminum plate can be used for 8-10 hours.
When it is connected in series or in parallel circuit, it can increase the voltage to 12 and the power to 100 watts.
It can be applied to various communications instruments, lighting equipment and lighthouse.
