Russian Diplomats Visit Kaechon-Lake Thaesong Waterway

Pyongyang, August 21 (KCNA) -- Russian embassy officials here including Oleg Davydov, charge d' affaires ad interim, visited the Kaechon-Lake Thaesong Waterway on August 20 on the occasion of the first anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's visit to the Far Eastern Region of the Russian Federation.
Being briefed on the fact that servicemen of the Korean People's Army and builders constructed such a giant and proud edifice, they looked round the Taegak Youth Dam, structures and waterways stretching across a vast land.
The charge d' affaires ad interim said that Kim Jong Il initiated and guided the waterway project, a fact rare to be found in any other countries.
We were admired to learn that this gigantic project was completed in a short span of time by the army and people of the DPRK and once again clearly realized its might, he added.
He sincerely wished the Korean people great success in their efforts to build a great prosperous powerful nation under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il.
