Joint War Game Flailed
KCNA
Pyongyang, August 18 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the National Democratic Front of South Korea (NDFSK) in a statement on Aug. 16 denounced the large-scale "Ulji Focus Lens" joint military manoeuvres to be staged by the U.S. warhawks with the south Korean military as a test nuclear war and a preliminary war aimed at rounding off its plan of preemptive nuclear strike at the north.
What is more serious is that the war rehearsal is scheduled to take place just before the six-way talks for a solution to the nuclear issue on the Korean peninsula, the statement said, and continued:
If the talks are to prove fruitful, a favorable atmosphere must be created for them, first of all.
The U.S., however, is staging one war game after another, threatening its dialogue counterpart and chilling the climate of the talks, while paying lip-service to "dialogue".
Facts clearly prove once again that its harping on "dialogue" is a lie and there is no change in its aggressive designs to stifle the north by force of arms.
The NDFSK in the name of the whole nation bitterly condemns the war game of the south Korean and U.S. warhawks, branding it as an intolerable challenge to the aspiration and desire of all the Koreans and humankind who hope for the peace, stability and reunification of the Korean peninsula.
The United States should promptly withdraw its plan for the provocative "Ulji Focus Lens" exercise and approach the six-way talks from a sincere stand, mindful of the consequences to be entailed by its reckless war manoeuvres against the north.
