Koreans vow to defend country with utmost resolution

Pyongyang, July 23 (KCNA) -- Fifty years have passed since the Korean people defeated the U.S. imperialists who were boasting themselves to be "the strongest" in the world. The monument to Victory in the Fatherland Liberation War was erected in Pyongyang, the capital of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, to convey the lofty spirit of the heroic soldiers who defended the country at the cost of their lives in the revolutionary war for the freedom and independence of the country.
According to data available at the monument, 20,594 batches involving 4,731,120 servicemen, working people, youth and students have visited the monument over the past decade since it was unveiled on July 26, 1993.
All the visitors keenly felt the great vitality of the outstanding military ideas, strategies, tactics and war method of Juche applied by President Kim Il Sung to lead to victory the hard-fought Fatherland Liberation War unprecedented in the world history of war.
They vowed to learn from the heroic stamina and indomitable fighting spirit of the servicemen and people who dedicated their precious youth and lives to the defence of the sovereignty and dignity of the nation and the people's democratic system. They also resolved to defend the country as the first and second generations of the revolution did at the cost of their blood.
The monument has been visited also by 4,942 groups involving 108,099 foreigners and 2,628 groups involving 16,056 Koreans from other countries in the same period.
They lauded the Korean servicemen and people for the unrivalled bravery and mass heroism they displayed to repulse the U.S.-led imperialist allied forces' invasion and defend with credit the freedom and independence of the country and the gains of the revolution.
Head of a Cuban military delegation Alvaro Lopez Miera, head of the delegation of for Peace and Socialist-Communist Workers' Party of Finland Reijo Katayaranta and chairman of the Spanish Association for Friendship and Solidarity with the Korean People Luis Perez Lara were unanimous in saying that they came to know well about the DPRK, which defeated the U.S. imperialists and won a brilliant victory in the past Korean War under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung. they also said that the immortal monument will hand the heroic feats of the Korean people down through generations.
