Architectural festival held

Pyongyang, July 22 (KCNA) -- The 3rd "May 21 Architectural Festival" was held in Pyongyang from July 20 to 22.
The festival included a prize contest of architectural designs for the exhibition of blueprints for the construction of Pyongyang, an exhibition of designs for the construction of cities and county seats, a national scientific seminar on architecture and construction and a national contest for the modernization of architectural designs.
At least 110 blueprints entered the prize contest of architectural designs for the exhibition of blueprints for the construction of Pyongyang and more than a hundred designs were on display at the exhibition of designs for the construction of cities and county seats.
Presented at the national scientific seminar on architecture and construction were papers chosen from among over 150 papers examined at 7 panels including architectural, urban designing and construction and structure ones.
Multi-media programs and architectural design programs including "proud architecture of Koguryo" and "architecture and 3d" developed on the basis of latest scientific and technological achievements were highly appreciated at the national contest for the modernization of architectural designs.
Prizes were awarded to the successful participants in the festival at a closing ceremony held at the People's Palace of Culture on July 22.
