KCNA

Pyongyang, July 18 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today dedicates a signed article to the 30th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between the DPRK and the North European countries. The article says:
Diplomatic relations were officially established between the DPRK and the North European countries in the period from April to July, 1973. This was a favorable event reflecting the common desire and demand of the Korean and North European peoples to deepen mutual understandings and develop friendly and cooperative relations between them. And it fully conformed to the norms of international relations on establishing and developing relations among countries on the principles of mutual respect of sovereignty, non-interference in other's internal affairs, equality and mutual benefit.
The DPRK and the North European countries are all desirous of independence and peace and, for this commonness, the relations between them are consistently developing in the new century.
In recent years the North European countries have helped the Korean people in various ways in their efforts to liquidate consequences of serious natural disasters. And exchanges and cooperation are being promoted in scientific and technical fields.
The Korean people have good feelings for the peoples of the North European countries.
It is a requirement of the trend of the times in the new century and the developing international relations to make closer the relations between the DPRK and those countries. The relations will continue to be developed favorably in the future as ever by their common efforts on the principles of mutual respect of sovereignty, non-interference in each other's internal affairs, equality and reciprocity.
