Principle of independence, guarantee for reunification
KCNA
Pyongyang, July 16 (KCNA) -- The principle of independence put forward by President Kim Il Sung serves as a fundamental principle of national reunification based on the principle of the Juche idea and the Juche-oriented view on the nation, says Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article.
The issue of the country's reunification, it notes, is an issue of the Korean nation itself and an issue related to national sovereignty because it is a matter of reconnecting the blood vessel of the nation cut off by outside forces, achieving national unity and establishing national sovereignty in the whole country.
This principle is based on undisputed confidence in the boundless might of the Korean nation, declares the paper, and goes on: The Korean nation can be reunited and can successfully solve the issue of national reunification by its own efforts as it ardently desires achieving national reunification through national reconciliation and unity.
National independence serves as an ideological force that strengthens the nation itself and leads to reunification and prosperity while dependence on outside forces and flunkeyism are an ideological poison that leaves national interests to them and drives the country to ruin.
The Korean nation must firmly maintain its position as the master of national reunification and must neither beg foreign forces for its reunification nor allow them to thrust their noses into its affairs.
The principle of independence advanced by Kim Il Sung and strictly abided by leader Kim Jong Il inspired the Korean nation to the victory of national reunification and, finally, led to the birth of the historical June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and opened the era of independent reunification.
