Special envoy of Chinese government sojourns in DPRK

Pyongyang, July 15 (KCNA) -- Dai Bingguo, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, who is the Chinese government's special envoy stayed in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea from July 12 to 15.
During his stay, Kim Yong Nam, President of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, met and had a friendly talk with the special envoy.
Present there were Vice-Foreign Minister Kim Yong Il, officials concerned, the special envoy and his party and Chinese Ambassador to the DPRK Wu Donghe.
Foreign Minister Paek Nam Sun also met and had a talk with him.
There were talks between First Vice-Foreign Minister Kang Sok Ju and the Chinese government's special envoy on July 12.
At the talks, both sides highly appreciated the traditional DPRK-China friendship favorably developing day by day under the deep concern of the leaders of the two countries and underscored the need to make positive efforts to boost the bilateral friendly relations.
Both sides had an in-depth exchange of views on the nuclear issue between the DPRK and the U.S. and international issues of mutual concern.
The DPRK government hosted a banquet for the special envoy.
The special envoy and his party visited the Poman Cooperative Farm in Sohung county, North Hwanghae Province, during their stay.
