Rodong Sinmun on forthcoming election

KCNA

Pyongyang, July 11 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today editorially calls for greeting the forthcoming election of deputies to the Supreme People's Assembly and the provincial (municipal), city (district) and county people's assemblies with high political enthusiasm and labor successes. It says:
The election to be held this year will mark a significant political event as it will help further strengthen the people's government and enhance its role as required by the Songun era on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the DPRK. The people's government has reached a higher stage in its development. This election of deputies to the people's power organs will mark an important occasion of fully demonstrating the dignity of the DPRK advancing under the Songun leadership of Kim Jong Il.
To greet this election with high political enthusiasm and brilliant labor successes is an honorable work to give a fuller play to the mettle of the single-heartedly united republic to win sure victory and a worthwhile work to strikingly demonstrate the advantages of Korean-style socialism.
All party members and other working people should firmly preserve the immortal feats performed by President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in building a people's government and creditably carry forward them.
They should take part in the election with high political enthusiasm, bearing in mind that it is an important work to preserve and carry forward the undying feats performed by the party and the leader in the building of the government.
Underscoring the need to make new leaping advances and perform exploits on all fronts of socialist construction on the occasion of the election, the editorial calls on all party members and other working people to turn out as one in the drive to implement the calls made by the central committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.
