Many foreign decorations awarded to Kim Il Sung

    Pyongyang, July 9 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung was awarded over 30 orders, medals and prizes and 20 odd honorary titles by different countries and international bodies for the past nine years from July Juche 83 (1994). Among them are highest order, solidarity order, gold medal, medal of honorary citizenship, prize of genius, and titles of honorary academician, professor, doctor and citizenship. On July 17, Juche 83 (1994), the organization of socialists in the mediterranean presented its order first class to the president in recognition of his devoted service for the strengthening and development of the socialist movement and global peace and security.
    The socialist progressive party of Lebanon awarded its specially instituted highest order to him for the first time on the lapse of 100 days after his demise.
    In Damascus, a meeting took place to name a newly-built street "Kim Il Sung Street" and a decision on awarding an honorary citizenship to the president was issued in April Juche 91 (2002), his 90th birth anniversary.
    He also received Sukarno Order of Indonesia, titles of honorary academician and doctor of the international information technology academy, prize and citation of the permanent office for Afro-Asian writers, title of honorary doctor of pedagogy of Chiclayo University in Peru, gold medal and honorary diploma of the French institute for the fidelity in work, and titles of honorary citizenship, medals and diplomas of honor from ten odd cities of Peru, Ecuador and other countries.
    Those orders, medals, prizes and honorary titles are diverse and rich in content and they were exceptional in the practice of awarding.
    This is a manifestation of the world people's deep reverence and praise for the president as well as clear evidence of his high international prestige.
