Origin of Workers' Party of Korea

KCNA

Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- The Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) has covered a long way replete with victory for scores of years since its foundation. it is entirely thanks to its deep roots provided by President Kim Il Sung. The president, with deep penetration into strife among factionalists and flunkeyists in the latter half of the 1920s, formed the society for rallying comrades, the first party organization in Korea, with revolutionaries of a new type who were not infected with factionalism or flunkeyism, on July 3, Juche 19 (1930).
The WPK has grown from this party organization.
The society was a revolutionary party organization guided by the Juche idea, and the mother body in organizing and expanding grass-roots organizations of the party.
The formation of the society was the foundation of the first true party organization of the working class guided by the leader in Korea. As a result, the young communists of the new generation could have an organization of genuine revolutionary vanguards and make preparations to found the party under its unified guidance.
Party organizations were expanded rapidly with the society as the parent body, the unified guidance system over them established well and the unity and cohesion of the revolutionary ranks behind President Kim Il Sung strengthened.
It made it possible to found the WPK in a short span of time right after the liberation of the country.
It was the faith and will of the president to start the revolution with the work of mustering men who would share the same destiny with him and to develop the revolution and achieve its final victory by constantly rallying more and more comrades. From this point of view, he named the first party organization the society for rallying comrades.
