Patriotic activities of war veterans
KCNA
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- War veterans of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea are devotedly working for the development and prosperity of the country with a high degree of consciousness as citizens.
War veterans in South Hwanghae Province voluntarily formed more than 400 sapling-cultivation sub-work teams. Though old now, they are willing to live in the spirit with which they fought devotedly for the leader and the country during the last Korean War.
The art agitation activities of war veterans brisk in all parts of the country reflect the noble spiritual world of the old men and women with a strong sense of patriotism.
Over the past 18 years since they formed an agitation squad for increased production and better and faster construction, women veterans in Waudo district, Nampho city, rendered assistance to army units and major projects on more than 100 occasions. In this period they gave some 3,000 art performances to inspire servicemen and builders.
Over the past five years war veterans in Haeju city conducted art agitation activities before more than 100,000 people on nearly 400 occasions.
National art festivals of war veterans and honored disabled soldiers take place every year, giving impetus to their art agitation activities.
Theirs are not merely artistic activities but patriotic activities of forerunners in revolution who are trying to hand down to posterity heritage not material but ideological and spiritual.
