Nomination of Kim Jong Il as candidate for SPA hailed

    Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- Papers here today editorially congratulate supreme commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il on his nomination as a candidate for the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK at the electorate meeting of constituency no. 649. Rodong Sinmun says that his nomination is a revelation of the unshakable faith and will of the servicemen and the people of Korea to have him at the head of the party, the state and the revolutionary armed forces forever, reliably defend the DPRK, a heritage left by President Kim Il Sung, and build a great prosperous socialist power in this land without fail under Kim Jong Il's Songun leadership.
    His nomination is an expression of profound reverence and absolute trust of the servicemen and the people in him, the paper says, and goes on:
    It is the fruition of his outstanding leadership that the president's idea on state-building and his exploits have been firmly preserved and glorified despite the most difficult hardships in our country and the overall socialist construction is making brisk headway with the people's army as a hard core and a model.
    His nomination is an expression of the absolute worship and enthusiastic reverence for him which have been cemented in actual life for a long time. His authority is unchallengeable today and tomorrow as he leads the revolution in the van with his matchless outstanding political ability, qualification and lofty virtues.
    Minju Joson says that his nomination is a striking manifestation of the fixed faith and will of the army and the people of Korea to accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche to the last under his Songun revolutionary leadership.
