The Communist regime of Kim Jong-Il said it has enough plutonium to build a half-dozen nuclear bombs. North Korea has also test-fired missiles into the sea of Japan. These rockets may be capable of carrying nuclear devices.

  • KCNA flails U.S. strategy for preemptive strike KCNA 30 Jul 2003-- "Information" used by the United States for justifying the Iraqi War has proved totally false, creating a great furor. The Bush administration has so far spearheaded the operation to scour every nook and corner of Iraq so as to find out objective evidence proving Iraq's "possession of weapons of mass destruction" which it cited as a pretext for starting the Iraqi War. But it has so far proved futile, thus driving Washington into a political predicament.

Rodong Sinmun today says this in a signed commentary denouncing the united states for having worked out the "Operation Plan 5030", a new plan for a war of aggression on the DPRK, aimed at mounting a preemptive attack on it behind the curtain of "dialogue".
  • Kim Jong Il inspects KPA unit KCNA 30 Jul 2003-- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Il, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, inspected KPA unit 675 honored with the title of O Jung Hup-led 7th regiment. He highly appreciated the unit's feats, saying that it is a unit that has made a great contribution to the defence of the country and the building of a rich and strong country.
