U.S. report on human rights and democracy refuted

KCNA

Pyongyang, June 27 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry in an answer given Friday to a question put by KCNA accused the United States of pulling up the DPRK again over its human rights and democracy performance. He said:
The U.S. State Department in the "2002-2003 report on human rights and democracy" on June 24 groundlessly slandered the DPRK again, saying that it is deeply concerned about the human rights records in the DPRK and it would take a more resolute measure to radically improve the human rights and democracy performance in the DPRK.
It is open secret that the U.S. is escalating psychological warfare and blockade operation against the DPRK on various, groundless charges in a premeditated way.
The smear campaign launched by the U.S. against the DPRK over its human rights and democracy performance is aimed to tarnish the dignity and the image of the political system in the DPRK, increase international pressure upon it and isolate and stifle it in the end.
The extremely hostile policy of the U.S. toward the DPRK and its more base plot against it will only heighten the vigilance of the army and people of the DPRK against the U.S. and will entail serious consequences.
