U.S. forces' redeployment in S. Korea denounced

KCNA

Pyongyang, June 27 (KCNA) -- The U.S. and South Korea on June 5 agreed to transfer the U.S. second infantry division deployed near the military demarcation line and the U.S. troops stationed in Ryongsan base, Seoul to areas south of the River Han. Rodong Sinmun today carries a signed article in this regard.
    It says:
The redeployment of the U.S. forces in South Korea is the biggest-ever transfer since the ceasefire and a very dangerous military move which should not be overlooked.
The redeployment is a measure taken by the U.S. according to its new military strategy, a strategy for a preemptive attack on the DPRK.
The U.S. imperialists are applying a war method based on high-tech with main emphasis put on missile strikes and air raids rather than land attack in carrying out their war of overseas aggression. They regard the U.S. forces deployed near the military demarcation line unfavorable for fighting a war of high intensity, given that the Korean peninsula is bounded on three sides by sea and has narrow land front.
It is the view of U.S. military strategists that when a war starts in Korea, Seoul and areas north of it will turn into sea of fire in a matter of a few days due to North Korea's strong artillery fire power and none of the U.S. troops within its firing range will be able to survive. That's why they are now craftily working to prevent disastrous consequences through the redeployment of the U.S. forces before the outbreak of a war.
The redeployment of the U.S. forces in South Korea is a very dangerous military measure prompted by the U.S. imperialist attempt to use nukes in the second Korean war.
This is by no means a step for military detente.
If the Bush forces opt for taking a military option as now a war on the Korean peninsula will be unavoidable.
