U.S. urged to drop anti-DPRK hostile policy

Pyongyang, June 27 (KCNA) -- Romesh Chandra, honorary chairman of the World Peace Council who is also honorary chairman of the International Liaison Committee for Reunification and Peace in Korea issued a statement on June 20 on the occasion of the Month (June 25-July 27) of Anti-U.S. Imperialist Joint Struggle.
In the statement he extended support and solidarity to the Korean people in their struggle to achieve the independent reunification of the country under the banner of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration.
In order to ensure peace and security on the Korean peninsula and the rest of Asia, the U.S. should immediately withdraw its nuclear weapons and aggression forces from South Korea, drop its hostile policy toward the DPRK and positively respond to the DPRK proposal for concluding a non-aggression treaty with the U.S., he urged.
He expressed the belief that pursuant to the unique Songun policy of leader Kim Jong Il the Korean people will smash the imperialists' moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK, build a great prosperous powerful socialist nation and achieve the independent reunification of the county in the near future.
