U.S. moves for sea blockade against north denounced
KCNA
Pyongyang, June 22 (KCNA) -- Co-chairmen of the headquarters of the Movement for Calling for the Anti-U.S. and Anti-War Struggle and Urging the Conclusion of a Non-Aggression Treaty between North Korea and the U.S. issued a statement on June 12 denouncing the U.S. moves for sea blockade against the north, according to a news report.
The U.S. is committing heinous hostile acts little short of sea blockade against the trading ships of the north under this or that pretext, the statement said, branding this as an illegal act of ignoring the United Nations and international law.
The U.S. is seriously mistaken if it thinks the north will remain a mere onlooker to the U.S. keen on tyrannical blockade against the north, the statement said, stressing that any reckless action on the part of Bush would bring unimaginably serious consequences to Americans.
It continued:
The only way of settling the issue on the Korean Peninsula is for the United States to sit face to face with the north, discuss the issue with it candidly and conclude a non-aggression treaty with it. If the U.S. refuses dialogue with the north, it will prove the U.S. plan for a war against the north.
The headquarters of the movement denounces the U.S. moves for sea blockade against the north and strongly demands an early conclusion of a North Korea-U.S. non-aggression treaty.
If the U.S. deteriorates the situation through a "tougher step" defying such just demand of the Korean nation, it will meet unpredictable strong resistance against it.
