Guarantee for normal service of Mangyongbong-92 called for
KCNA
Pyongyang, June 22 (KCNA) -- The South Korean Institute for True Education issued a statement on June 18 demanding the guarantee for the normal service of the ship Mangyongbong-92, according to a news report.
The statement said:
Recently the Japanese authorities persistently resorted to such discrimination and suppression of Koreans in Japan as putting restrictions on the Korean school graduates who wish to enter Japanese state universities. Not content with this, they are blocking the service of Mangyongbong-92 which has plied between the DPRK and Japan.
The ship has successfully fulfilled the humanitarian mission of making services for Koreans in Japan visiting the DPRK for reunions with their families and relatives, study tour, tourism, etc. for ten odd years according to the agreement worked out and signed by red cross organizations of the DPRK and Japan.
We cannot overlook the sinister moves of the Japanese authorities to block the service of the ship.
Such moves are part of the blockade operation launched by Japan together with the U.S. administration against the DPRK, calling for "tough step."
The statement demanded Japan ensure a normal service of the ship at an early date.
