National seminar on Kim Jong Il's work held

    Pyongyang, June 18 (KCNA) -- A national seminar on Kim Jong Il's famous work "Giving Priority to Ideological Work is Essential for Accomplishing Socialism" was held at the People's Palace of Culture on June 17. It was published on June 19, Juche 84 (1995).
    Published at the seminar were treatises titled "the socialist society is a society which advances, guided by the socialist idea", "it is truth proven by history that socialism emerge victorious when it holds fast to idea and if not it collapses", "the ideological work in socialist society is a popular work for the whole party and state", "let us bring about a new turn in the ideological work as required by the era of the Songun revolution", etc
    Speakers including president of the academy of social sciences Thae Hyong Chol, director of the institute of international issues Kim Sang Rok and secretary of the Pyongyang City Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea Jang In Su widely and deeply explained and proved the originality, validity and tremendous vitality of the ideas and theories propounded in the work and theoretical and practical issues arising in their application.
    It was attended by secretaries of the WPK Central Committee Choe Thae Bok and Jong Ha Chol, officials concerned, officials of national and city party and power organs, working people's organizations in Pyongyang and officials of scientific, educational, cultural and art and press institutions, and party cadre training and other organs.
