The work comprehensively clarifies the necessity, main tasks, principles and methods of the ideological work for accomplishing the socialist cause.
    The attraction and vitality of the work are fully proved by the fact that the Korean people have defended socialism with the might of ideology, smashing the imperialists' moves to isolate and stifle them.
    When the destiny of socialism was being severely threatened, he put forward the unique Songun idea based on the philosophy that socialism and peace are guaranteed only by arms. he has armed the entire people with this idea and defended the sovereignty of the country and the nation.
    The might of ideology is one of the main sources of the Korean people's victory in the confrontation with the united states, which termed the democratic people's republic of Korea a part of the "axis of evil" and a target of preemptive nuclear strike, and gravely threatened the sovereingty of the nation with the so-called "resolution" adopted by the international atomic energy agency.
    He always pays deep attention to the ideological work during inspection tour of the Korean People's Army (KPA) units and economic sectors.
    Over the past eight years since 1995 he has given field guidance to more than 1,507 army units and economic establishments, implanting the spirit of defending the country in the mind of the servicemen and people.
