Rodong Sinmun calls for struggle for national reunification
KCNA
Pyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- The June 10 anti-Japanese demonstration was an eruption of the Korean people's wrath and resentment at the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule and the anti-Japanese popular patriotic resistance for national sovereignty and independence, says Rodong Sinmun today in a by-lined article dedicated to the 77th anniversary of the demonstration.
The article goes on:
Many years have passed since the demonstrators shed blood in the anti-Japanese patriotic resistance but their ardent desire for independence and sovereignty has not come true nationwide.
The Korean nation has yet to carry out the task to put an end to the foreign domination and interference and reunify the country as early as possible as desired by the demonstrators and thus establish national sovereignty throughout Korea.
The U.S. is the main foreign force standing in the way of the reunification of the country and infringing upon the sovereignty and the dignity of the Korean nation.
The U.S. is getting desperate in its reckless moves to ignite a nuclear war while persistently pursuing its hostile policy toward the DPRK to stifle it under the pretext of its nuclear issue.
Japan is also joining in the U.S. moves.
If the aggressor forces are allowed to go on with moves to stifle the DPRK and unleash a nuclear war, they may scuttle the cause of independent and peaceful reunification, long-cherished desire of the nation, and the Korean Peninsula will turn into shambles of a nuclear war ignited by foreign forces.
A nationwide anti-war and anti-U.S. struggle alone paves the way for the Korean nation to survive and achieve independent reunification.
All fellow countrymen should get firmly united in the idea of "by our nation itself", a great preposition in the era of national independent reunification, to wage a more dynamic movement for national reconciliation, unity and independent reunification.
